ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY HOSPITALITY

At CAPHOTEL, we are committed to supporting an eco-responsible approach to the hotel and restaurant business, focusing on the well-being of our guests and staff, and respect for the environment. Today, these key issues form the basis of our CSR approach, which is built around 2 essential pillars:

This is our ambition, a dynamic undertaken with determination and humility. At CAPHOTEL, we have firmly anchored CSR at the heart of our functions, our services and our hotels and restaurants.

Fighting climate change and adapting

We have made the responsible choice of subscribing to EDF’s renewable energy option. All our electricity comes from renewable energy sources, reducing our carbon footprint and representing 1,106 tons of CO2 emissions avoided each year between 2023-2025.

We are firmly committed to assessing and reducing our overall environmental impact by completing a scope 3 carbon footprint by 2024.

We encourage shared mobility by deploying car-sharing at CAPHOTEL head office, minimising greenhouse gas emissions and promoting a sustainable approach to business travel. Since the introduction of this car-sharing project, a reduction of 3 tons of CO2 has been achieved.

We are investing in raising team awareness about environmental protection by working on setting up a CSR training module and a micro-learning app.

Responsible purchasing & supplier relations

We choose short-distance suppliers to reduce transport and support the local economy.

We prefer to use products from sustainable production with 40% of our products and consumables coming from our eco-responsible catalogue.

Since 2022, we have been using probiotic, environmentally-friendly cleaning products.

Social Commitment

We are working on equal opportunities for all by promoting social inclusion and diversity and by fighting all forms of discrimination.

We offer our employees the freedom to get involved in charity work, by working with humanitarian charities such as Secours Populaire and Restos du Cœur (toy and food collections).

In September 2023, we set up a platform enabling our employees to propose socially and environmentally responsible projects, thereby strengthening our positive impact.

We have introduced mattress lifts in our hotels to promote well-being in the workplace and make it easier to do difficult jobs.

Governance & ethics

Several of our hotels and restaurants have started the Green Key certification process for sustainable tourism, guaranteeing our commitment to the environment.

For 2024, we are aiming to obtain the Act4Nature label, demonstrating our commitment to preserving biodiversity.

In 2023, in partnership with Tchaomegot, we launched an initiative to collect and recycle cigarette butts, taking action against this pollutant.

In 2020, we introduced a battery collection initiative. In the space of 3 years, between 2020 and 2023, the number of batteries collected has tripled. This increase reflects our commitment to responsible waste management.

Since 2021, we have been actively recycling our IT equipment to reduce our environmental impact.
